Das EU-Projekt „Let Me Be Me” soll dabei helfen, Arbeitsplatz-Mobbing von Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung abzubauen. Dabei arbeiten acht Universitäten und Organisationen aus Großbritannien, Deutschland, Irland, Portugal und Spanien zusammen. Die Projektkoordination liegt bei der gemeinnützigen britischen Organisation „Stepping Stones“. Deutscher Projektpartner ist das Zentrum für Empirische Pädagogische Forschung der Universität Koblenz-Landau.
Das Projekt gliedert sich in vier Phasen. Zunächst wird der Bedarf eines Trainings gegen Arbeitsplatz-Mobbing von Menschen mit geistiger Behinderung erfasst. Dazu werden Diskussionsrunden mit Betroffenen sowie mit Arbeitgebern organisiert und Befragungen von Betreuungspersonen und Trainern durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse sind wesentliche Grundlage, um passende Trainingsmaterialien in den Sprachen der teilnehmenden Länder zu entwickeln, die dann vor Ort mit Betroffenen getestet werden. In der abschließenden Projektphase werden die Materialien auf einer Internetplattform veröffentlicht, damit sie für Tutoren, Trainer, Eltern, Unternehmen und soziale Organisationen jederzeit verfügbar und anwendbar sind.

Let me be ME! Countering workplace bullying for people with intellectual disabilities
The project “Let me be ME“ aims at countering workplace bullying of people with intellectual disabilities. Eight universities and organisations from United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Portugal and Spain are working together. The project is coordinated by the non-profit organisation “Stepping Stones NI” from Northern Ireland. The German partner is the Centre for Educational Research, University of Koblenz-Landau.

Focus groups with people with disabilities as well as with employers and surveys with carers and trainers are done. Basing on the needs analysis’ results, matching training materials in the languages of the participating countries are developed. They will be locally tested by people with disabilities. In the final phase, the materials will be published on an Internet platform for the access and usage of tutors, trainers, carers, employers and organisations.
