AUT*CIA - Equal opportunities for severely disabled women with HFA/AS in working life

Description / Topics

Various international and national studies draw attention to the fact that severely disabled women and girls with high-functioning autism (HFA) or with Asperger's syndrome (AS) experience disadvantages in the world of work compared to the male gender, which make it difficult to enter the world of work and lead to specific burdens. However, there is a lack of knowledge about the reasons for these specific burdens and what kind of support women need in order to remain sustainably employed in their working lives and to find stabilization in their personal development. The B.B.W. St. Franziskus in Abensberg, together with the Integrationsfachdienst (IFD) Nuremberg and the BFW Berufsförderungswerk in Hamburg, would like to focus more on this target group. For this reason, the practical research project AUT*CIA was initiated. In a first step, the problem situations and support needs of women with HFA/AS will be elicited using a mixed-method approach. The results will then be used to derive measures and modify support services. More at: www.autismusundarbeit.de/autcia
