Let me be ME! Countering workplace bullying for people with intellectual disabilities

Description / Topics

The project “Let me be ME“ aims at countering workplace bullying of people with intellectual disabilities. Eight universities and organisations from United Kingdom, Germany, Ireland, Portugal and Spain are working together. The project is coordinated by the non-profit organisation “Stepping Stones NI” from Northern Ireland. The German partner is the Centre for Educational Research, University of Koblenz-Landau.
The project is organized in four phases. It begins with a needs analysis of a training countering workplace bullying for people with intellectual disabilities. Focus groups with people with disabilities as well as with employers and surveys with carers and trainers are done. Basing on the needs analysis’ results, matching training materials in the languages of the participating countries are developed. They will be locally tested by people with disabilities. In the final phase, the materials will be published on an Internet platform for the access and usage of tutors, trainers, carers, employers and organisations.
