Dortmund Basic Education Qualification (DoQ)

doQ' is a joint project of the TU Dortmund University and the CJD NRW North in the Christian Youth Village Association of Germany. The project DoQ - Dortmunder Grundbildungsqualifizierung (Dortmund Basic Education Qualification), which runs from November 1, 2012 to September 30, 2015, is based on the call for proposals from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research for the research and development project "Arbeitsplatzorientierte Alphabetisierung und Grundbildung Erwachsener" (Job-Oriented Literacy and Basic Education for Adults). As a joint project, it is entitled: "Development and implementation of an individually oriented and economic sector-specific qualification in companies for employees with basic education needs and/or migration background". The basic education materials of volumes 2 to 4 as well as volume 1 with its basic information on the handling of the learning materials are aimed at basic education or the training and further education of low-skilled workers in companies in the recycling industry, the logistics sector and the metalworking industry. In view of economic change and demographic developments, the demands placed on low-skilled workers are also increasing in companies: operating instructions must be understood and implemented, written work instructions must be followed and industry-specific forms must be filled out and processed. Workplace-oriented basic education is thus an essential prerequisite for securing a workplace as well as the associated social participation.
