D.I.A.- Digitization.Inclusion.Work. New ways of professional education in the hotel and restaurant industry

Description / Topics

By means of the project Digitization.Inclusion.Work. (DIA), a digital and inclusive learning environment for the hotel and restaurant industry is being developed, tested and evaluated. The aim is to provide people with and without disabilities with flexible access to working aids, learning materials and educational content via various devices and to support them in their everyday working processes and in (further) professional education. The basic idea behind DIA is a universal access to educational content for all users, regardless of their individual skills and abilities. Therefore, the digital learning environment is designed barrier-free. The content and materials contained are illustrated in various media forms, adapted to diverse needs of the users. The aim is to reduce barriers to professional education and learning as well as participation in working life by the means of digital media. In addition, a mentoring concept is being developed to support trainees and employees in (further) professional education. Using the digital learning environment, opportunities for deepening educational content and (collaborative) dealing with learning tasks are created, whereby assistance from colleagues can always be made use of. In this way, learning from and with each other shall be promoted. The digital learning environment will initially be developed and tested with relevant educational content and expert knowledge for the following professions: specialists in the hotel business and restaurant, cook, cook assistant, specialist in the hospitality sector and assistant in the hospitality sector at Hotel Aspethera. Transfer to other hotels and restaurants is possible. In addition, further educational content can be created for other professions. Thereby, inclusive digital learning and working can also be utilized in other sectors.
