CASCO – From being a CASE to being a COACH Persons with disabilities who are experts for themselves will be qualified – a pool of trainers for vocational and advanced trainings will be established

The aim of the project: The organization ISL e.V. will prepare a curriculum for experts with disabilities. The experts will be qualified as trainers for vocational and advanced trainings. Among others they will be able to teach the participants of the trainings a human rights based perspective of persons with disabilities and the related policies. An effective consideration of the issues of persons with disabilities can only take place when experts for themselves acquire professional know-how and are actively involved in vocational and advanced trainings. In plans of action and mission statements the rehabilitation providers and the welfare associations have stated to support the independent living of persons with disabilities and to actively involve them with the aim to contribute to the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). To achieve this important aim more qualified disabled experts have to be available compared with the present situation. Persons with disabilities can be motivated by an demanding training programme. By this additional qualification they enhance the chances regarding their vocational participation. Contents of the project: - Preparation of a curriculum to qualify the experts with disabilities - Qualification of the disabled trainers - The participants will test their skills in training exercises, for example in tandem with trainers of the institution - Establishing a pool of trainers to disseminate the qualified trainers - Provision of a learning platform that will be available even when the project is over Target group: Persons with disabilities - who are already working as skilled employees and want to qualify themselves as trainers - who yet did voluntary work and want to get qualified to theme-related trainers - who are already working as trainers and want to deepen their knowledge
