Health guide for the deaf

The target group of the project is defined by: - Severely hearing impaired persons - Native speaker use of German Sign Language - Sufficient ability to understand spoken language and to read - Willingness to specialize in the sense of the project - Basic professional qualification in certain occupational groups (physicians, psychologists, social pedagogues, nurses, med. administrators, IT-personnel with med journalistic competence) Project objectives: - Integration of hearing-impaired people into working life with basic practical skills through the development of qualification modules in a novel field of activity in the care optimization of the treatment of hearing-impaired patients. - Development and documentation of structures and procedures that make existing medical services more accessible for hearing-impaired patients - Consideration of promising medical programs such as the Planned Treatment Processes (Managed Care Programs) that meet the needs of hearing-impaired patients. - Practical application, elaboration and dissemination of medical terms in sign language (cooperation with Institute for German Sign Language of the University of Hamburg planned). - Evaluation of specific (project-related) expenses, curriculum-related. - Testing and use of modern visual communication technologies for the deaf in a hearing work environment, in particular mobile PC and PDA devices in cell phone technology. - Development of deaf-friendly visualized information material for deaf patients on preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic measures. - Development of a barrier-free Internet presence for deaf patients. - it is aimed in the medium term that the Gesundheitslotse can work cost-covering in many fields of activity by the usual health insurance company fees. the qualification modules in the detail: - acquisition of necessary authority in project engineering and conversion of new projects (computer knowledge, abilities for public work; Methods for coworker information etc.; approx. 30%). - acquisition of basic skills in multimedia development (approx. 15%). - acquisition of skills in statistical processing of data material (approx. 15%). - acquisition of skills in interdisciplinary cooperation of health pilot team and clinic staff, especially acquisition of technical skills in interface communication (approx. 40%).
