eSign - Essential Sign Language Information on Government Networks

eSIGN is a two-year EU eContent-project (2002-2004) with seven partners in three countries. eSIGN is developing an avatar (virtual human figure) that will be used on eGovernment portals to translate and present information in sign language. Deaf people depend on information in their own language, sign language. With the technology developed in eSIGN, deaf people will have the opportunity to have a barrier free access to eGovernment information.
