Evaluation of an interdisciplinary pain management program (SBP) in chronic back pain patients for inpatient rehabilitation

Chronic back pain represents a significant cost factor in the health care system, as many patients remain permanently unable to work or are prematurely retired. Important predictors of this are health-related quality of life as well as subjective employment prognosis and work absenteeism. Successful therapy should be interdisciplinary and include psychological treatment. This study investigates whether the multifactorial pain management program in rehabilitation can achieve a better and more stable long-term treatment success of chronic back pain than the standard physiotherapeutic therapy practiced to date alone. In addition, the influence of the chronification stage before therapy on the treatment success will be investigated. The IRES 3 questionnaire, which was specially developed for the requirements of rehabilitation, is used as a measuring instrument.
