Description / Topics

Approximately 300.000 people with epilepsy are currently employed in Germany. The purpose of the project “Participation of employees with epilepsy at the workplace” (in german TEA: Teilhabe-Epilepsie-Arbeit) is to consult and provide support not only for employees suffering from epilepsy. But also their employers, company Medical physicians, safety specialist and other experts and to answer all queries related to work and epilepsy. Main focus is to provide a risk assessment specially designed for employees with epilepsy and to understand if conditions at the workplace have been improved or not – with an evaluation from before and after. The questionnaires are following ICF standards and will provide a systemic view of the support process. The knowledge taken from all measures will be bundled to form a guideline for risk assessment for employees with epilepsy which can be used beyond the end of the project. The aim of the project is that people suffering from epilepsy could maintain their job.
