Transcultural care for people with a migration background (TransVer) using the example of the project location Cloppenburg

Connected to the Fachstelle für Sucht Cloppenburg, the project examines the low-threshold and needs-based access of two target groups to the addiction support system. In the district of Cloppenburg, there is a nationwide exemplary cooperation within a migrant-specific network. At the beginning, newly designed information events are held with key persons to acquire people from the target groups. At the same time, the data of the addiction aid statistics of the past years are evaluated and the current status of the withdrawal processes is surveyed in the sense of a catamnestic research. The result of these first steps is the assignment of people to the target groups. Contact is established through outreach work. There are people who report themselves and people who are not. The Motivational Interviewing method is used to address both groups - in German or Russian. Once contact has been made, specific information is provided to maintain and intensify the connection. After approaches of the change motivation, assistance with the decision making and strengthening of the motivation the binding follows to consultation and/or treatment mechanisms (bridge head function). Temporally this Casemanagement takes up between some days and several weeks. During the project, the procedure is evaluated and optimized with regard to its transferability into the regular workflow of the specialized unit.
