DOSB Congress: Winning with Inclusion! People with and without disabilities move sports Germany

Holding a central congress on the topic of "Sport and Inclusion" with a special focus on accessibility. The main objectives are to make inclusion a tangible experience in and through sport, to define suitable framework conditions, and to promote the networking of various agents. Inclusion has already been an important topic at the DOSB for many years. In order to promote this area even further, the DOSB General Assembly unanimously adopted a position paper in 2013 entitled "Living Inclusion - Playing Sport Together and with Equal Rights", and a strategy concept was subsequently drawn up. These measures described in the strategy concept must now be implemented in order to make sport a driver of inclusion in Germany. In particular, the association structure of non-profit sport must be used and accessibility in and through sport must be expanded. The implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the inclusion of people with disabilities as experts in their own right is a particular concern here. Through the preparation and implementation of a congress in close cooperation of people with and without disabilities as well as (sports) associations for people with disabilities and general associations, the potentials of sports in the implementation of inclusion shall be promoted in a public-spirited way and inclusion in and through sports shall be advanced. The DOSB is the organizer of the congress and coordinates the planning. In the implementation, we pay attention to low-threshold access and accessibility.
