ICF classification
The International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) is an international classification of the World Health Organization (WHO) from 2001.
As a uniform and standardised frame of reference, it is used to classify and describe the consequences of diseases in terms of bodily functions and structures, activities and participation, taking into account a person's contextual factors. The ICF is based on the bio-psycho-social model of thinking.
Projects develop or validate, for example, core sets or ICF-based instruments and assessments, they operationalise items or test the application of the ICF, they design and test training for ICF use, they use the ICF in action planning and as a model and theoretical reference system for their research work.
