Limitation of reduced earning capacity pensions: Is there a chance of vocational integration?

Description / Topics

Limitation of reduced earning capacity pensions (RECP) (in Germany) implicates that there is a chance to retrieve full earning capacity. Yet, it is unknown how many people receiving RECP are reintegrated into the labour market without professional assistance. Research projects revealed particular attitudes of people receiving RECP towards reintegration measures. Further research examined factors influencing reintegration, but none led to a permanent implementation of professional assistance for vocational integration. Routine data from the German Pension Found will be analyzed regarding the characteristics and the history of employment of people receiving RECP. A systematic review will be conducted to identify existing research projects in which professional assistance is tested. Additional information on these research projects will be captured through interviews with the project staff. Conclusions on how to proceed with people receiving RECP and how to support their vocational integration will be derived from a discussion with all stakeholders.
