Type of Project: Funded project Scientific Work Study
Medical rehabilitation and individuals with temporary disability pension

Description / Topics

In 2011 20.5% of retirements occurred as disability pensions. It is unknown which factors affect a reversion from temporary disability pension to working life. Both reasons for claiming rehabilitative benefits while referring to disability pension and how using these methods effects the workings status at the end of the temporary disability pension have never been analyzed before. The aim of this study is to research these questions in due consideration of different influencing factors. For this purpose two written interrogations will be sent with a time delay to insurants whose disability pension will end in the period of recruitment and who either made demands on medical rehabilitation while drawing a pension (sample II) or did not (sample I). Then these data collected (survey data) will be connected with administrative data of the German pension insurance.
