Modular work integration in outpatient rehabilitation of addicts (MAARS)

The model project is aimed at all rehabilitation patients addicted to alcohol, medication and drugs who are undergoing outpatient rehabilitation treatment and require assistance with job reintegration. The project takes into account the requirements of the new joint framework concept of pension insurance and health insurance for outpatient rehabilitation of addicts from December 2008, in which the comprehensive approach to rehabilitation is emphasized. The guidelines of the German Pension Insurance on work-related interventions in the outpatient rehabilitation of addicts are another basis for the project. With the MAARS project, the goal of the statutory mandate of the pension insurance, job reintegration, is also to be more strongly incorporated into outpatient rehabilitation. The various work-related interventions (modules), such as talks to clarify the professional situation, advice on professional reintegration, job-related support, work training, stress testing and support during an internship, are to be carried out by appropriate specialist staff. A total of up to 20 work-integrating service units can be used in an outpatient rehabilitation program.
