Healthy with Airbus

Depending on the severity of their complaints, employees receive either preventive services, the cost of which is borne by the Airbus plant or BKK DASA Airbus, or a three-week outpatient medical rehabilitation service at the Harburg Rehab Centre. The rehabilitation centre has detailed knowledge of the workplaces at the Airbus plant, so that the outpatient participation benefit can be optimally tailored to the workplace. If the employee is still unable to work after the medical rehabilitation service, a six-week gradual reintegration period follows if necessary. During this period, the employee goes to work for three days and to the rehabilitation centre for two days in the first three weeks, and to work for four days and to the rehabilitation centre for one day in the second three weeks. If it becomes apparent that it will not be possible to take up work at the Airbus plant without further qualification measures, a team meeting will be held, if possible while the participation benefit is still being provided, which should be attended by a representative of the health insurance company and the Airbus plant's company medical service, a doctor from the Harburg rehab centre, the employee concerned and a specialist advisor from the respective LVA. All those involved in the procedure will continue to meet at regular intervals to discuss any problems that arise and to modify the procedure if necessary. Legal basis: § 26 SGB IX in conjunction with. § 31 SGB VI Indications: Employees at the Airbus plant with back and joint problems who are in need of rehabilitation are offered a rehabilitation program tailored to them and their workplace. Special Features: Access to rehabilitation is provided at the earliest possible stage. Clinic employees are informed about the exact respective workplace conditions at Airbus by means of an ergonomics register. Close contact between all institutions involved in the rehabilitation process. Documentation: Evaluation planned from 01.01.2004 Costs/benefits: Timely identification of the need for rehabilitation and successful early reintegration should prevent long-term incapacity to work.
