AmPULS - Program to support job reintegration after cardiological follow-up rehabilitation

Background: More than 40 % of patients in cardiological follow-up rehabilitation have special job-related problems (BBPL) and correspondingly high reintegration risks. In other indications, medical-occupational rehabilitation (MBOR) has proven to be a successful program to improve job participation in these cases. However, since cardiological follow-up rehab is characterized by a very high therapy density and a strongly reduced resilience of the patients, the MBOR core modules cannot be integrated into the treatment here as in other indications. Innovation: The project develops and tests a second job-oriented rehab phase after cardiological follow-up rehab for people with BBPL. This MBOR week will be preceded by telephone reintegration support to ensure seamless support for job-related questions and decisions as well as needs-based assignment to the MBOR week. Objectives: The program to be tested is intended to achieve a significantly higher rate of successful job reintegration for the target group described than with the usual care path to date (regular discharge from follow-up rehabilitation to general practitioner or specialist care without job-related offers). The aim is to restore earning capacity, counteract the threat of reduced earning capacity, and improve social and job participation.
