Rehab must fit: Workplace-oriented optimization of cooperation between rehabilitation clinic and company (KoRB2)

The success of reintegration into working life after rehabilitation depends decisively on the cooperation between rehabilitation clinics and companies/occupational physicians. The implementation and communication problems at this interface are being investigated by the KoRB2 study. Problem areas are to be systematically recorded, solutions sought and implemented. In moderated focus rounds, representatives of employers, employees and the employers' liability insurance associations, rehabilitation clinics, company physicians, clinic social workers and rehabilitation consultants are to clarify the obstacles and inadequacies of cooperation between rehabilitation clinics and companies / company physicians and develop proposals for more efficient and effective interaction between the agents involved. In doing so, they should be able to draw on their own expertise and experience as well as on the findings and suggestions of a larger group of experts (from the same professions) resulting from a previous (written) survey. After analyzing the problems, wishes and possibilities, the expert groups are to find possible solutions and modification approaches that can be operationalized and reach a consensus. It is expected that the implementation of the structural and process modifications will result in better (smoother, more targeted, more effective) performance of the rehab clinic / companies / company doctor interface. A better knowledge of the specifics of the workplace (possibly with modified specifications for the preparation of the discharge report) should result in a targeted rehabilitation tailored to the individual workplace and in a more operationalizable socio-medical prognosis that supports smooth reintegration in the workplace.
