Case management in the rehabilitation of addicts with work-related problems (RFB)

With the help of experts from specialized clinics for addicts, a framework concept was developed as the basis for a new type of "rehab case support for alcohol, medication and drug addicts with employment-related problems". Dependent patients who have been unemployed for many years or who have a destructive employment history and who have undergone withdrawal treatment without lasting success ("repeaters") or who have not started an approved withdrawal treatment ("non-starters") are provided with a rehab case companion even before the start of the service. The insured person receives immediate support from this personal companion. The rehab case companion is provided by the rehabilitation facility that was assigned to the insured person for weaning. Together, an individual integration plan is developed, implemented step by step and ensured by monitoring. Intensive and needs-oriented support with targeted interventions to strengthen the motivation to use all the help available until job reintegration is achieved should not only contribute to an increase in the rate of job take-up, but also to an empirically verifiable assurance of rehabilitation success. This model project is being scientifically accompanied and evaluated. The evaluation study is being conducted by the Department of Quality Management and Social Medicine at the University of Freiburg and the University of Landau with funding in accordance with §31 Para. 1 Sentence 1 No. 5 SGB VI.
