Type of Project: Funded project Model project
Description / Topics
‘BIK for all’ invites stakeholders from four fields (industry and commerce, air transport, occupational training and the social sector) to form strategic partnerships and jointly plan targeted inclusion awareness campaigns addressed at their members.
When assessing organisations’ state of accessibility and supporting the development of more accessible web sites and services, the project draws on an established web accessibility test procedure, the BITV-Test. The BITV-Test is based on the German directive for accessible information technology (Barrierefreie-Informationstechnik-Verordnung 2.0). BITV-Test services are provided by a range of testing organisations in Germany.
As integral part of ‘BIK for all’, the current BITV test procedure is being extended and updated. It’s going to offer an additional conformance check according to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of W3C (at conformance level AA).
The web site www.bik-fuer-alle.de offers introductory and awareness-oriented information. Beyond that, it presents key activities and results from the four targeted fields.
The domain www.bitvtest.eu provides an overview of the BIK projects and the BITV-Test, as well as selected English articles.
