Work the way I want to!

The "Working - the way I want to!" project aims to sustainably improve self-determined, individual participation in working life for people with disabilities. It supports the shift away from an institutional mindset towards person-centered rehabilitation, which is promoted by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Federal Participation Act. A central aspect of achieving this goal is the structural improvement of needs analysis in the interests of people with disabilities. To this end, the project team is developing an AI-supported needs analysis tool, the use of which will initiate a paradigm shift that will enable people to independently identify their individual needs and participation goals. This not only leads to a more validated and efficient needs analysis, but also relieves the burden on service providers, teachers and specialists in labour market integration by reducing the personnel and organizational effort previously required. The AI-supported needs analysis tool will be made available free of charge on the Internet after the end of the project and can be used by all interested parties throughout Germany. In addition to the development of an AI-supported needs analysis tool, the project will focus in particular on formulating recommendations for action for transformation processes. The co-design of all project results by employees and participants from various sectors (companies, politics, science and civil society) ensures a high level of practical relevance and takes transferability aspects into account right from the start.
