Research Project
Type of Project: Funded project Model project
"INCOBS – Standardtechnologien"

Description / Topics

"INCOBS – Standardtechnologien" focuses on the accessibility of soft- and hardware for visually impaired users in the occupational context. Product tests of standard technologies such as smart phones, tablets or navigation devices will help determine if these are equally usable by blind and visually impaired users.
Market overviews will cover both standard technologies and assistive technologies for visually impaired users.
The project will document the degree of accessibility of standard software used at the work place, and document cases of customisation of assistive technologies such as screen readers. A web-based 'customisation finder' ('Anpassungsfinder') will be developed which should help users with visual impairments, companies, and public funding bodies in choosing suitable software and workplace installations.
