Type of Project: Funded project Model project
Qualification of regional inclusion-clusters on flight and disability

Description / Topics

The model project aims at networking, cooperation and competence development of civil society and public key actors of inclusion, participation and integration in favor of an improved counseling and support practice for refugees with disabilities in Germany. In each federal state, the project brings together committed key actors in the fields of refugees and disabilities from civil society, politics and administration to form a "regional inclusion cluster on flight and disability", identifies training needs and educates them on the situation and specific requirements at the crossroads of flight and disability in Germany. The cluster members acquire this knowledge in order to design their regular counseling and support services in a needs-oriented, low-threshold and culturally sensitive manner for refugees with disabilities. The project networks the 16 clusters with each other and with supra-regional professional and self-advocacy structures working at the crossroads of refugees and disabilities, advises its members as needed, creates individual competence profiles, and develops an open online forum for consultation, qualification, and networking. Refugees with disabilities participate in the project as experts in their own cause.
