Contents: Systemic implementation research and consulting of educational institutions with a special focus on mental development and workshops for disabled people (WfbM's) on communication and understanding with barely and non-speaking students of the vocational school level regarding career choice, career orientation and vocational participation. Objectives: The research project continues the state-wide study of Lower Saxony from 2010-2011. The aim of this follow-up study is to determine whether, under ideal implementation conditions, barely speaking and non-speaking students in the vocational school level of educational institutions with a special focus on mental development can learn symbolic forms of communication. Furthermore, it is to be determined whether, on the basis of the learned symbolic forms of communication, participation and communicative expression can be optimized with regard to career choice, career orientation and vocational testing. Research question: (1). Which contents on UK diagnostics, on UK support as well as on action research have to be imparted to teachers and project leaders of WfbM's in the context of the external training series? (2). Are symbolic forms of communication as a key competence for self-determined career choice, identification and testing to be taught to barely and non-speaking students attending the vocational school level on the basis of systemic implementation consulting? (3). Does systemic implementation consulting succeed in increasing the efficiency of support? Methods: Diagnostics of communicative skills, observations of the development of communicative skills, interviews, questionnaire survey. see also follow-up project: Participation in the transition process (duration from 01.02.2019 to 31.01.2022)
