Evaluation of the Project "Vocational Training without barriers"

Since the early nineties the integration of disabled children into regular school classes has been enabled by pilot projects in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition the "state program for disabled persons" demands better conditions for disabled school leavers with the aim of integration into labour market after leaving school.

With this project an institution was created that accompanies the disabled school leavers from school to vocational training and employment. Its function is to connect the institutions which are involved in vocational training and advancement and to offer a guidance to the disabled young people corresponding to their individual needs. By placing them in practical courses and apprenticeship places the disabled young persons ought to get occupational skills helping them to improve their chances in the labour market.
