Implementation of Inclusion Competence at the Chamber of Crafts Erfurt (IvIK)

Objectives: The project pursues the goal of sustainable inclusion of severely disabled people in the craft labor market. The following focal points have been defined as sub-objectives: 1. Creation of new, and thus additional, internships and training positions for severely disabled young people in the skilled trades 2. Acquisition of new and maintenance of existing workplaces for severely disabled, unemployed older people 3. Development of a sustainable consulting structure for member companies in the field of inclusion 4. Public relations work for the training and employment of severely disabled people in the skilled trades. Tasks and procedure: These project goals are to be achieved by training the chamber's own advisors in the field to raise awareness among the companies, by acquiring additional internship or training positions for young people with physical or mental impairments, or by attracting new and securing existing jobs for severely disabled people - especially in SMEs - through counseling, skills assessments at special needs schools and integrative schools, and support for needs-based career guidance for young people and their parents in cooperation with the Employment Agency. The counseling structure is to be expanded in the long term by setting up a central counseling center for craft enterprises, parents and young people with a focus on "transition management from school to business for severely disabled young people" in close cooperation with the Employment Agency. Targeted and needs-oriented public relations work is to raise awareness and encourage craft enterprises to offer vocational training and employment to severely disabled people. Through an Internet presence, posters, flyers and an information folder as well as regular articles/contributions in the German Crafts Newspaper and in the newsletter, the HWK Erfurt wants to inform about the work of the project. A total of ten craftsmen's round tables will also provide an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience.
