Implementation of Inclusion Competence at Chambers in the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IvIK)

The project aims to shape the transition from school to job for severely disabled people in such a way that access to dual training is improved. To this end, SME companies from the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce district in particular are to be specifically informed about and sensitized to the topic of inclusion in vocational training. The target group is small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The (potential) training companies are approached by telephone, post and in person by an inclusion advisor recruited for the project. Interested companies are supported and accompanied in setting up, structuring and consolidating the vocational training of a severely disabled person. In this way, the structures created and the company know-how developed are also available to the company for future vocational training. Synergy effects are to be used and a stable support system developed by initiating regional networks with the relevant participants. The Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce is already working in various municipal working groups and steering committees, which are intensively involved in regional school-job transition management in the individual municipalities. Here, the topic of inclusive vocational training is to be explored in greater depth. The city of Oldenburg, for example, set up a specialist inclusion office back in 2013, within the framework of which the working group "Inclusive work and employment" is working. In addition to the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, relevant partners are already represented here, e.g. the specialist integration service, an Aktion Mensch ambassador, representatives of the Oldenburg workshop for people with disabilities and representatives of the business development department. In the course of the project, viable models and structures are to be developed together with the network partners to enable the sustainable integration of severely disabled people. Within this framework, dialog events and workshops are offered for companies, but also for employees of the Oldenburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in order to acquire and expand the necessary competencies. The concrete course of the project is divided into two sections: - Experiences from an already completed model project (TIM - Participation and Inclusion in the Transition from School to Work - Lüneburg Model Region) are analyzed and flow into the project - in particular tried and tested inclusive models that have facilitated the transition from school to a job for people with disabilities. With this information, training companies and agents of the support systems are addressed on the part of the inclusion advisor. In the first step, trainers who already have experience in the vocational training of young people with disabilities will be addressed. In the following, the circle is to be expanded and trainers and management of companies that are still inexperienced in vocational training are to be sensitized. - Experienced trainers assume the role of mentors for newly acquired training companies and are available as contact persons. They are supported by the individual agents in the networks - the Employment Agency, the Integration Service, the Integration Office, the Inclusion Advisor of the Oldenburg Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the vocational school and agents from the disability assistance sector, among others. Any training needs are to be identified and then addressed. The improvement of the job situation of severely disabled women is perceived as a cross-sectional task in the planned activities. The project is accompanied by intensive and target-group-specific public relations work (specialist lectures, publications) on the topic of inclusion.
