INREFA 2.0 - Development of a self-help application for recipients of disability pensions to support their return to work

Description / Topics

The project tests the combination of physical and software-based case management for first-time recipients of a disability pension. Case management for this group is currently based on weekly, physical meetings and thus is hardly convenient for persons in rural areas or an increased need for support. The project first develops a software application that offers an information library, a platform for communication, a task board, and the option to include activity data from third party apps such as walking distance. It then employs this software in actual case management with disability pension recipients. The project’s goals are: - To strengthen participants’ self-confidence and occupational competencies - To strengthen their ability for self-help by interacting with other participants and by developing their knowledge - To deliver case management in a more flexible and patient-centred way - To increase the likelihood of return to work. The estimated number of participants is 380 persons, who will be recruited in many parts of Lower Saxony. The software will be put to tender. Project partners are INN-tegrativ gGmbH to deliver the physical and application based case management and the Section of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Hildesheim to provide a scientific evaluation of the project’s outcomes.
