With the chosen title „I show you my world”; this question comes along among others: How can inclusion be practically experienced in society? Are the different living environments in Israel and in Germany comparable? What can we learn from each other?
These questions are not only to be answered theoretically, but also in a practical way through the communication medium of art.
Therefore the Diakonie Neuendettelsau is working towards creating, an encounter and an intensive exchange between people – with and without disabilities – in Germany and in Israel. By participating in this project, the mutual understanding of each other and the learning from each other is to be promoted. Equally, by sharing information and experiences, best practise examples are to be furthered, as well as country specific programmes analysed. This way, a comparison of the approaches, structures and institutions can be made, which stand exemplarily for their country. By travelling and stays in a foreign country, intercultural as well as interreligious competences are acquired by the participants and furthered. These very important experiences can take on the function of cross-national bridges. These bridges positively influence the international understanding, thereby greatly supporting the politically sensitive cooperation between people with and without disabilities in Israel and Germany.
